Day 362

Day 362 - Kind of like a DIY lunchable but kind of not...Really I'm just cleaning some odds and ends out of the fridge.  She has turkey and cheese flowers, a pudding parfait, some Rainbows and Butterflies pasta salad and grapes.  Not pictured she also has a banana.  It doesn't seem like much food but she had a big breakfast and has cottage cheese for snack so I think she'll be satisfied.

Day 361

Day 361 - Rainbows and Butterflies pasta salad. The "rainbow" is yellow peppers, carrots, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, ham, turkey and cheddar cheese.  The "butterflies" are mini bow tie pasta dressed with a little bit of the oil from the sun dried tomatoes.  She also has a scoop of tuna & pickles, cherry tomatoes, grapes and some trail mix.

Day 360

Day 360 - Breakfast for lunch!!  D had a couple of cut out sandwiches this week so I had a stockpile of bread scraps.  That means baked french toast time!!  Bento bloggers often are asked what do you do with all the scraps?  Isn't making these cute lunches wasteful?  Well to be honest...NO!  Around here, cheese, meat and veggie scraps are eaten almost immediately and if they aren't they are typically added to pasta salad and used up that way.  Bread scraps either end up as "cinnamon fries" or baked french toast.  Simple, easy and D loves all those options!

Here are some links to recipes and ideas for using bento scraps!

Day 348

Day 348 - Left over pizza from our sleep over this weekend!  Once a month my BFF and I switch off babysitting to give each other a "date night" with our husbands.  We have been doing it for a few years now and it really works out for us.  I really look forward to my night with the girls and also to my date night!  So this weekend it was my turn to "pay the piper".  The girls are so much older now that it is so easy to have them here.  I pretty much only saw the tops of their heads while they all used their Ipods to play Minecraft together. LOL  They didn't eat too  much since they were so engrossed in their game.  So there was a ton of pizza left over!  D has pizza cut out with a FunBites cube it, red and yellow grape tomatoes, clementine and homemade yogurt.

Day 347

Day 347 - Just a turkey sandwich today, cut out with a Lunch Punch.  I found some Wilton Cake Stamps at Michael's on clearance so I grabbed some.  They are kind of the craft foam kind not rubber.  I don't think they worked as well on the cheese...maybe they work great on fondant.  I'll try to work with them some more and see if I can get them to work for me. She also has some grape tomatoes, cucumber slices with carrot flowers, blueberries and some chocolate covered sunflower seeds.
