Day 433

Day 433 - DIY Lunchable "mini".  D's lunchable has ham, turkey and cheese flowers decorated with carrots, she has mini flat bread crackers, black and white grapes.  She also has 1/2 an Oreo brownie decorated with Wilton cookie icing.

I am working a double shift so I need lunch and dinner.  My lunch is a turkey/cream cheese/dried cherry wrap, peapods and hummus with a few strawberries.  My dinner is a lunchable.  Chicken, ham scraps from D's lunch, cheddar cheese, crackers, white and black grapes.

Day 419 - Turkey/lettuce wrap, Chobani Champions tube, cucumber sticks and a carrot flower from Grammy and Grandpa's garden..it is in full production mode...YAY!! She also has 2 strawberries.

Mom's lunch is a salad made with Lunchable scraps, in the mini-dipper is crushed red pepper that I use because I don't like salad dressing.  I also have 2 strawberries.

Day 360

Day 360 - Breakfast for lunch!!  D had a couple of cut out sandwiches this week so I had a stockpile of bread scraps.  That means baked french toast time!!  Bento bloggers often are asked what do you do with all the scraps?  Isn't making these cute lunches wasteful?  Well to be honest...NO!  Around here, cheese, meat and veggie scraps are eaten almost immediately and if they aren't they are typically added to pasta salad and used up that way.  Bread scraps either end up as "cinnamon fries" or baked french toast.  Simple, easy and D loves all those options!

Here are some links to recipes and ideas for using bento scraps!
